The U.S. Sales dropped 0.7% , but they went up by 4.3% in Africa, Middle East, Europe, and Asia/Pacific.

For the sales in total they went up 9.1%, which include the U.S. Decline of 0.1%, the 6.7% that rose in Europe, and with the rest of the world the 7.2% rise. With customers turning to McDonald’s for meals that are offered cheaply, they usually do well during the recession. McDonald’s has actually has started to feel in in the last few months. Their competitors are feeling it more than them though. McDonald’s offers of the potable Mac Snack Wrap, free Wi-Fi, and the Dollar Menu for breakfast drew customers to them and were popular offers in the United States.
France and the U.K. had strong sales, while Germany weren’t as strong. Due to the time of the Chinese New Year, the sales were not strong in China, but in Australia and Japan they were. The competitors of McDonald’s have also been trying discounts and some value menus themselves. The sales that offset the loss in the United States helps with the business finance for McDonald’s.
